Built by
the Seventh-day Adventist Church,
Youngberg Adventist Hospital was
set up in the 1950's in Upper
Serangoon Road. It was one of
the first hospitals in SIngapore,
and was regarded as "the"
hospital in the 50's and 60's.
In the 1980's, Youngberg Wellness
Center was set up as the health
education department of Youngberg
Adventist Hospital.
Youngberg
Wellness Centre, under the hospital
pioneered a number of notable
community health programs, such
as the renowned NEWSTART, 5-Day
Stop Smoking Program, and its
popular vegetarian cuisine cooking
classes.
Over the
years, Youngberg has been synonymous
with quality and innovative preventive
health care. It has been the active
partner with the Ministry of Health
and various government agencies
for many years in many public
health initiatives.
Today,
Youngberg Wellness Centre is part
of the strong network of the 150
Adventist hospitals and wellness
centres around the world, including
the notable Loma Linda Medical
Centre in California, USA.
The Youngberg
Wellness Centre today aims to
carry on its rich and strong legacy;
Bringing Healing &
Health to the community.
